Hello my dears and welcome to my most recent newsletter. Winter has truly set in and I’m processing the fact that I’m going to have a baby within the month. I’ve found that I’ve been very calm throughout this pregnancy and I really think that my regular arts practice has helped me to process the changes going on within my body. Even now, with 4-weeks to go before my official due date I feel fairly fantastic. I’ve been especially good at keeping up to date with my daily doodle and nature journaling practise. Getting absorbed with creating (just for myself) puts me in a wonderful state of flow where I’m utterly content with my own company and thoughts (I highly recommend it)! If you’d like to see some of my most recent creations, check out my Dose of Whimsy blog post.

Art Classes
I taught my final homeschool art class the other day and was overcome with emotion. The Mum’s were so kind, showering me with gifts and gratitude. I really do find a wonderful sense of community in sitting around and being creative with others, it’s a very meaningful part of my life. My only booked in classes now for the rest of the year are at The Cedars in October. We will be painting Spring Flowers and I’ll probably have my partner and baby with me (how wild)! If you’re interested, you can book in here.
I’ve also been fantasising about starting up super casual nature journaling sessions once a month (probably starting later in the year). These would be open to everyone of all ages and include a little demo at the start and a sharing of journals at the end. I was thinking that the cost would be super minimal (just a
subscription or $5 donation). We could also have a picnic after the class. For me, this would be a wonderful excuse to foster a community of lovely people and encourage creativity and environmental awareness. I’d love to know if you would be potentially interested in this via poll. When I’m ready to start, I can let you know.I will be continuing to post online classes throughout my maternity leave (they’re sitting in my draughts folder now), so feel free to subscribe (just $5 per month) to get full access. This month’s class was on drawing a rainbow-bee-eater.
How to Draw - Rainbow Bee Eater
I’ve actually never seen a Rainbow Bee Eater in the wild, but I’m sure it’s a magical experience. I hope you enjoy this free lesson on how to draw these lovely little birds. Paid subscribers will have the option to download the printable PDF how-to-draw sheet along with an exclusive coloured print and colouring-in page.
I’ve also been busy uploading all of my Australian Bird how-to-draw sheets to my website, so you can purchase and use them at your leisure. Check them out here.
Maternity Leave Sale!
I will be slowing right down with my business soon (I already have in-fact). The thing is, I still have a studio full of lovely things that need to go to new homes. I’ve discounted all of my Greeting Cards to $5 or less and you can use the code BABY25 for another 25% off of everything in the shop. SHOP HERE. I’ve also finally gotten around to putting up all of my To-Do Lists for the rest of the year and an option to purchase my Autumn Dose of Whimsy magazine and mini-print as an individual purchase.
